I've been getting a lot of mixed feed back about timelines for selection notification for fleet applicants; some say two weeks, others have said up to three months from the convening date of the board. My board convened Nov 7th (Supply Corps) and it's been more than two weeks with no notification. I'm due to transfer to Japan in January, but my orders are on hold pending the results of the board. My wife and I are getting anxious because we can't even begin to plan our transfer to another overseas location, or prepare for OCS. Does anyone have any reliable information about when and how I will be notified?

If you're a fleet applicant, the notification will come through BUPERS. My SWO board PRO-REC came in 9 days after my board but wait times vary. In BUPERS it will show a PRO-REC once it has been entered.

Kelsey,

Which section in BUPERS showed your results? I've checked them all and I'm still getting nothing. Thanks!

Your board "should" have convened on that day, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't, I have seen Supply results arrive anywhere from 2 - 6 weeks after the scheduled convene date, and that is without holidays in the mix.

As my OR would say, just stand by. Also, according to our SWO results, it took them only about 3 days to have decisions and more than a week beyond that for them to post to BUPERS. I know it sucks, but you shouldnt stress yourself out over something that is completely out of your control. Additionally, the FINSEL part is what usually takes the longest, not hearing back from the initial board.

Hey guys,

I'm going to apply for the December 17th rated boards for SNA and wanted to know on average how quick is the turnaround for that. Recruiter said it wouldn't take too long, but I wanted to see what your experience was.

I want to get going!

There is no Pilot/NFO board for the 17th. Also, you can find your own answer by searching previous board threads.

Odd, I've been working with my recruiter extensively and this is the date we've been using as a deadline. That said I just looked up the schedule online and I didn't see it.

Good evening,

Active duty Navy applicant here 7 years. Tried searching and didn't find the answer to this question answered. The two chances I will have to apply for OCD before age critical status and having my degree are for the Supply Board in August 2017 and the SWO Board in October 2017 due to hitting 31 years of age June 2018.

My question is due to the fact that I will have just have recently arrived at a brand new command with intention of submitting an Officer application right away, can the CO not endorse my package for the reason that I just arrived at the command and not wanting to have a gapped billet with me leaving the command for OCS? NPC emailed me back on this saying my command wouldn't be able to request a replacement until I was transferred as a loss. (Not ahead of time to "prepare" for me leaving.) I would be able to serve at that new command for 9 months if he gave me the latest "date available for OCS" of the March 2017
timeframe to leave enough time to commission before 31 June 2nd,2018.

My current Chief is under the impression it should be recommended because when Officers lead/reccomend enlisted to become an Officer it looks good on their FITREP.

I ask simply because I am about to put a lot into finishing this degree and getting letters of recommendation, ASTB, etc and am just trying to prepare my mind for the realistic answer that the process may be halted before it's started due to this, and wanted to know if anyone has heard of a CO denying someone for this reason alone. (FYI: I am within 90 days of PRD upon returning from this IA deployment so have to wait until the next command.)

Thank you for your responses!!

I have seen CO's withhold endorsements until a person has qualified, or re-qualified on the primary warfare device.

The only thing you can do is get everything ready you can, have you taken your OAR? have you made sure your GPA is a qualifying GPA? Is your degree conferred?

Roger. I'll assure I Get the PQS book for their EXW qual on day one. No, I'll be back from this deployment in February to my Parent command NRD New England. Between then and my transfer date of may I plan on getting an LOR from my O-5 NRD CO who is a SWO, a reserve O-5 SUPPO, taking the ASTB with with the local OR who is my DIVO. Degree will be conferred by June with between 2.9-3.0 on the button gpa in Business Administration. Going to study ASTB information as best as I can find online for now. Then the lastly the hope will be my new CO endorsement at a logistics command who will be a SUPPO O-5/O-6.
Some standout material I hope to offset the average gpa will be two NAMs/1 COM/MOVSM/diversity from taking both a recruiting tour and Individual Augmentee assignments/business acumen from being a yeoman/and consistent EP and MP evals.

If those stats stay as planned, do you see a chance for selection possible/likely?
