Interview Appraisals???

I recently graduated and received my B.S. in Information Systems, and will be applying to the August Board. Any advice for how to meet Naval Officers, and how to ask for an interview? Do these carry more "weight" than a letter of recommendation?

Best of luck to all of you in the same position

If your plan is to apply for the August board, then you should already have been in contact with a recruiter, who will be able to help you arrange an interview. If you are not already in contact with a recruiter, then you need a new plan. Step one of your new plan should be to get in contact with an officer recruiter, who will then be able to help you arrange an interview. And do a couple of other little things as well. Make sure it's an officer recruiter.

As to how to meet Naval Officers, eHarmony is one way. If you're an IT type, you might also try JDate.

I'm just working on my motivational statement, LORs and Interviews. My Officer Recruiter (OR) has been no help scheduling an interview with an Officer in my designators (INTEL, INFOWAR, PILOT). He told me that it is my prerogative to find Officers to interview.

try yahoo answers.. post it on there. That's how I got mine. Your recruiter shouldn't just feed you to the wolves on that one either.. He has more connections to officers than you would. I would politely ask him to advise you on what his master plan is for you to find an officer interview on your own.. Obviously with some digging you will prob get it. But if you don't have any connections and you're a civilian it's hard to just get an interview sometimes with out a mutual middle man between you and the officer.

Where are you from?

I got an interview by contacting the NROTC detachment of a nearby university and asking if one of the officers would be willing to do one.

Southern California. My recruiter is in charge of the Officer Recruiting program, but is not an officer. He is a Chief Petty. I contacted a university this past week and will definitely swing by their offices.
