I know there have been a few posts of this variety, but none addressed my particular situation.

I am a civilian with an M.A. and am applying for a commission based on the "college option" as I've heard it called in the Army (sorry if that's not the Navy's term, but I haven't come across it). I will be interviewing with an officer and am wondering what kinds of questions I should expect. I believe it will be with an Intel. officer as this is my number one officer program choice.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm just parroting advice here, but it sounded good when I heard it.

Be well versed in current events and be prepared to express and defend your opinions. Also, be prepared for "what would you do in this F-ed up scenario" type questions. You can't always come up with a "right" answer, but they will be looking for a thought process and good bearing.

I'm applying for SNA, so keep in mind that my interviews were with O-6's that were either NFO or NA.

I had three interviews, and they were very much the same. Mainly they were trying to find out what type of Naval Officer I would make. They asked one question about current events and how I felt about the probability of me going over to the Middle East. The rest of the questions were trying to see what type of person I was. For example, What are your hobbies? Why do want to join the Navy? If you couldn't fly, would you still join the Navy? Why didn't I join NROTC? The most important thing I got from the interviews was the chance to question the officers. They have a lot of information. Take advantage of that. Also, try to find the biography of the officer your interviewing with. So you can have some questions ready to go before the interview.

Hopefully this helps.

Thanks PDX for responding with actual advice, which also sounds plausible. I shall soon find out.

Let me clarify. When I said I was parroting advice, I was just telling you what the Intel candidates in my OCS class told me about the interviews. My class had 8 Intel (3 mustangs + 5 civs). They interviewed with people from various communities including Aviation, SWO, and Intel.

I honestly believe it's good advice, but I can't personally say because I didn't go throught the process.
