Is an Age Waiver Possible for a Flight Contract

I want to be a marine pilot and just received my ASTB results for the second time. I just missed the score for a pilot contract but qualified for an NFO. I am turning 27 in December so time is of the essence. My recruiter informed me that I would have to wait the mandatory 90 days to take the test again (will be the 3rd time). But by that time I will be over the age requirements to become a pilot. I know if I study hard over the next few months I can ace that test and qualify. Is there anything I can do? Can I be granted an age waiver? I really want to become I pilot and am not sure about becoming an NFO(not that there is anything wrong with it) or anyother MOS besides naval aviator.

I was recently denied an age waiver at age 28. I was told they are not giving age waivers out at all anymore because of the correlation between attrition and age. I spoke with Major Ireland of I believe the Western Recruiting District in New Orleans on the phone. I believe I'm quoting him right that only 1 in 4 who have been granted an age waiver have made it through without attriting. NAMI, who is the final signer of an age waiver, will not do it unless there is prior service. A poster on this site, Spin, was accepted in 2003 at 28 and 3 months with an age waiver. If you read Devildoc's postings - actually that poster is the wife of a candidate - he was recently denied an age waiver for the marine corps at age 30 with 12 yrs prior service in the navy. I don't know mroe about that candidate other than astb was passed as was flight physical according to the posts. My stats are: astb 7/7/7, asvab 99, pft 276, gpa 3.34, no problems on flight phys, good lors including an ip and air force colonel.

Hey, how hard is the ASTB?

How smart are you? :D Study the gouge and you should do fine. When you are taking the test just keep tract of time so you don't run out.

Hey there gtown, are you talking about attrition from flight school or OCS?
