Do I look competitive for IW 1810?

Have you taken a quick search around the forums? You answer should be anything but yes. Take some time to look around and you'll see the stats of IW applicants who were selected.

I hope you proofread your application better than your post.

I have taken your advice and looked around the forums and I believe I should have a shot at making the cut. I really didn't understand this "You answer should be anything but yes" - did you mean that I am competitive or that I'm not?

To the proofreading, I didn't take a lot of time on the post I just wanted to get the information across.

His quote meant that you should answer "no" to the question "Have you taken a quick search around the forums?" This goes without saying, but most people ask questions like "am I competitive?" who have yet to read anything on the boards. Read around, do some research, talk to your Officer Recruiter (OR) and they can help you make a determination if you are competitive or not.

Simply put, if they think you are competitive they will most likely spend the time needed to help submit a kit (application). If you are not competitive you will most likely be told that and suggested to apply for career fields with a higher acceptance rate/more positions available.

with application goaling they get credit for applications submitted so if the recruiter is only thinking about themselves they will just submit your application whether you are competitive or not.

Yes, you do.

Feel free to PM if you have questions about the IW community.

The OP hasn't been heard from in a while so I don't believe the results were favorable from the board for him, of course with less than 10% selection rate they really aren't favorable for 90% of the people.

I disagree. Unless his Army/NG experience is related to IW I would place this applicant in the middle of the pack (maybe slightly better) of the applicant pool.

I don't look at applicants every day, so I have no basis for comparison there, but I do work with IWOs every day and can say that these are similar, if not good stats (considering the MS) for the community. Not to say he/she is a shoe-in, but I'd certainly think competitive.

I would agree with RUFIO on this one, maybe middle of the pack, which is a long shot for selection, besides what his degree is in every IW, or IDC applicant my NRD had picked up had much better stats

Do you know if these folks are straight OCS or lateral transfer? Big difference.

Yes, I understand the difference, and stand by my statement. In any case, I'm not looking to argue with you, just help out the OP based on my experience if requested.

I still think the OP wasn't picked up since he disappeared from the forum, so the point may be moot if he isn't in the mix anymore.

Wasn't try to argue with you, just providing the OP candid advice after spending three years in recruiting and tracking trends from recent IW boards. No one here wants the OP to get rejected by the boards and if anything wish him the best of luck in future boards.
