I found this audio broadcast of NPR's This American Life very interesting. Yes I know being an avid NPR fan puts my man card on probationary status but I like it anyway. My favorite part is where the PAO steers the journalist away from a boisterous group of sailors to a serious-looking one.

Reporter: "Why'd you join the Navy?"
Sailor:"Court order."

Later...
PAO:"If anyone ever asks you for an interview, you say 'no!'"

No…. say it ain’t so! I’m in biggggg trouble.

I listen to NPR all of the time. I love “Car Talk” and “The World of Opera.” And who can live without “All Things Considered?” I love classical music (I play) so I listen to WBJC all day, everyday. Here’s a photo of my favorite coffee mug.

Okay… where do I turn in my man card?:)

Nothing wrong with NPR. . .esp. on Sirius, where you don't have Pledge Weeks.

Car Talk, Wait Wait..., Morning Edition. . .all good stuff.

Can't stand Diane Rehm, though.

Diane Rehm is like the Cryptkeeper...she sounds like she's 1000-years-old.

Anyone listen to the Stennis broadcast yet?

No kidding!:D

I started to listen to the program, but neighbors showed up for Happy Hour. I was listening to the vending machine sailor story when they showed up. I'm gonna listen later this evening after AW. Good stuff.

I do pledge though. They need the loot. That's how I got my coffee mug!:D That's all I'll take though. I don't want the gifts they offer, let them keep all of the money.

Is it written somewhere that every report about Naval Aviation has to include Danger Zone as background music? :sleep_125

Rumors get to the XO...reporter called to XO's office...one-way conversation ensues...

"We meet the XO, A friendly, but tightly wound man"

Awesome...

"Chiefs...the buffers between the bosses and the people who actually do the work..."
