I was professionally recommended before I did the PRT on June 4th, which is the 1st Thursday of the month.I've heard that the board meets on the 1st thursday of each month to do the final selects. Have i missed the deadline for June or should I continue to hold my breath? I've already been to MEPS back in Sept. when I enlisted. Been in the DEP Program every since Sept. and I just passed the PRT maybe a week ago. As far as the Prof.-Rec goes, does that pretty much mean that I will be getting a final Selection soon? I have a perfect background and never have been handcuffed. I have a bachelors and have 15 hours left until i recieve my masters. I've also applied for the BDCP for the remaining hours that I have to get my Masters. Is it likely that they will turn me down for the BDCP or will I most likely get that if I am picked for final selection?

First off, congrats!

Second, I'm confused reading your post.

From what I do understand, more often than not, you will receive a final select if you have received a pro-rec. Things that need to get done between the two are MEPS, PRT, Security Clearance.

I don't think I understand your order of applying. Enlisted to DEP last September (I know I've heard of DEP, just not sure what it is), pro-rec'd for something recently, and now applying for BDCP? It is my understanding that BDCP is part of your pro-rec.

I hope someone posts that is a little more knowledgable about everything beyond my confusion. But I wanted to reply with congrats and my thoughts on Pro-Rec vs. Final Select

Final Select SNA (Sept 13th)
Congrats. Especially for working on a masters, that is going to be a few years out for myself. If you got Pro-rec'd well then keep in good shape get meps together and wait for security clearance. The last one seems to take forever.... I know....

I got my pro rec in February and due to hangups on the security clearance I am still waiting on my Final Select. My recruiter said this has been happening across the country because of something with the signature page processing. I would just recommend relaxing and keeping in touch with your recruiter because it could be awhile before Final Select.

that's rough especially since you are bdcp ... waiting on the paychecks to start coming in. hope everything picks up speed for you acwildcat!

Sorry about the confusion. I enlisted back in september and was put in the DEP Program-Delayed entry program. While waiting to leave for the enlisted side, I was working on submitting my package for OCS. I applied for BDCP but my recruiter told me that it wasn't guaranteed. I recently was told that I received the Pro Rec but my recruiter told me that the BDCP wasn't guaranteed a while back. He also told me that the Pro Rec wasn't a guarantee as to be one of the final selects. If it is apart of my professional rec, I will be happy but if not and im still selected, I will be happy as well. As long as I get selected!! lol

BTW.... I went to MEPS and already passed when I enlisted and got the CTN(Crytological Technician Networking) job, Then applied for SWO and Supply and got Pro. Rec. for SWO
