or make that retook. it was my first time at the new one. i had a 55 last time. i remember last time i had a hard time keeping up with the clock. i felt a lot better this time. i had minutes to spare in every test, and didn't have answer that damned psych test. i still fumbled my way through the nautical terms again... jesus... it's like trying to learn a whole new language. i put the smack down on everything else though, including the aviation supp, so we'll see in a couple weeks.

I'm scheduled to take the test this friday. I can't help but be a little nervous as I've had trouble finishing 2 of the sections within the aloted time (those being, MVT and MCT). I'm fairly confident I will get a decent score though.

Hope you did well Mithras, let us know how you did.

I had the same experience last time I took the ASTB. I was rushing to finish the math and aviation sections. This time I had about 3-5 minutes to spare after every section. You should get your scores back about Tues of next week if they are sent out by this Thurs. My scores should be in the same batch as yours because they take them in all this week and then grade them on Monday . What form did you take? I took form 3. The math seemed so much easier on this test then the old version I took last year. The mechanical seemed about the same and the reading was new. I am curious as to how I did after studying the ARCO Spatial compared to the slightly different version on the test.

Just took it yesterday. I took form 4. And contrary to my previous fear, I only had trouble finishing the math section, but I managed to squeeze in an answer for all problems. All other sections I finished with time to review my answers. Over all I feel the test was quite a bit easier than the practice tests I took. There wasn't nearly as much problem solving in the mechanical section, and the reading comprehension section only had 1 type of question rather than the 2-3 types they put in the practice tests. In all I feel pretty confident about the test, hopefully I'll get my score next week.

does anyone know how they actually factor in the supp. form for the astb scoring? is it counted with the mvt and mech towards the oar? i just took my test friday(form 5) and i felt fairly confident about the first sections, but i forgot about the supp part and it took me by surprise. im not sure i did as well with that. ive checked all the links i can find, but nothing seems to cover the scoring for the new tests.

Astb

I just took Form 5 this morning. The supplement was basically a mixture of more of the questions I had already took from the previous sections, this time just not mixed up (math, verbal, mech, av/nav). I asked what the deal was with this supp and one of the SSgt in the OSO office gave me a vague answer along the lines of "so you know the basics when you begin your training." Not really helpful but I imagine they could factor this supp part into any one of the sub scores. It kinda of frustrated me though. What was even the purpose of that part?

Just got my results back from my test

Academic Qualification Rating (AQR): 6

Pilot Flight Officer Rating (PFAR): 7

Naval Flight Officer Flight Aptitude Rating (FOFAR): 7

Officer Aptitude Rating (OAR): 44

I'm curious, I know that the first 3 are out of a possible 9, but what is the highest possible score for the OAR?

I'm not sure what the highest possible score is on the OAR for the new tests. It used to be 83, I think. However, I haven't seen anyone score above the mid-60s on the new test.

I haven't heard anything about them changing the maximum score. To my knowledge, and according to NOMI's site, the scores still range from 20 to 80. This information may be outdated...
