Juvenile Charges

I have been searching the threads for a couple weeks trying to find the answer to my question but haven't found anything similar.

As a juvenile I was arrested and charged with assault (two counts at the same time). One count was completely dropped withing a couple weeks of being arrested. For the other I was offered what is called a deferred disposition. It was basically a delayed prosecution. If you complete conditions xyz then you are good to go and are considered to be never convicted. I completed the conditions so I have never been convicted of a crime. I was wondering if anyone has had an experience with a juvenile record like during their selection process. If so were you offered a slot a PLC slot, did you have to get any waivers.

I talked to my OSO and he said he doesn't think it matters since I was never convicted of anything. And also, the records are in the process of being sealed, but I told the OSO about the incedents and I have a copy of all documents relating to the case for him if he needs them. Any input would be great. Thanks.

If you've been upfront with your OSO and he doesn't think it matters, I wouldn't argue with him.

Yeah, what he said.

Just be sure to note it whenever you are asked about being charged with a crime when it comes to security clearances, even then it probably would not b an issue unless you lied about it.

I was charged with 2nd degree battery and convicted of a lesser charge (it was a bunch of b.s. that I should have never been charged with) when I was a juvenile it did not hurt my chances at getting into the PLC program. I had to talk to my OSO's CO about it but that was all. My OSO liked the fact that I had stood up to an asshole then smoked him, he said it looked good. As far as the paperwork is concerned you can make it disappear. I can't find anything on my case due to some people I know and some phone calls. I think the judge can delete it from public record so you need to call his/her office and start bugging them about it. If you have any other questions message me.
