letter of inactivity

Hey yall!

Have any of you had any encounters with letters of inactivity? Right now I'm waiting to go to meps after obtaining a waiver and I've been pegged for inactivity because I was waiting for the waiver to clear. Now that the waiver has cleared, I'm waiting for my records to transfer from meps boston to meps seattle (because I had to move back home after school), but its taking awhile. Is the deadline date given to you a completion date? or if I make some progress and get through meps will my "inactivity" be erased?

Also, do any of yall have any time estimates for JPAS?

Thanks alot for your help!

Interesting, I was just tasked with writing one of these today myself. I had PRK right around the time of my Pro-Rec, so it's been a waiting game since then, and there was some debate as to when my medical should be submitted. Long story short, it's been 90 days since anything has happened with my App (even though I have been through meps/prt since then, but not submitted). I will be submitting one to my recruiter on Monday, so I'll let you guys know how it goes, and please do the same. Best of luck to you two.

Hey guys,
As for my letter, I haven't heard anything. I have 'til July 31st, and hopefully I get into meps this next week. After that, I'll be able to give you more of an idea of where I stand (hopefully in a good place!).

Jeff-
What do you mean by "tasked to writing one." My letter came from Millington. Hope things work out for the both of you...I'll be in touch!

Oh, my recruiter told me I had to write a letter to recruiting command basically telling them why there hasn't been any activity from me in the past few months (PRK surgery, I have to wait for medical). So maybe we're talking about slightly different things, but my OR described it as a letter of inactivity. Maybe I recieved a letter of inactivity and my recruiter is asking me to respond to it? I should know for sure by Monday.

I was a Mar Pro-Red SNA/NFO for BDCP. I'm not really sure what to put into the letter other than a timeline of my activities. I had some follow up medical exams to be done after MEPS. That was done in April. MEPS lost my fingerprints due to the Floods in May, but I had those redone in June. All I can think is that maybe my BI hasn't begun yet. Any idea how to confirm that my BI is underway.

Jeff-

Ohh I see. My recruiter did that for me to get my extension, so yours must have received the letter or is just being proactive.

Nick-

That's strange, but from my situation, I'm under the impression that sometimes it takes a while for one part of the Navy to talk to another.
