I'm applying for OCC 194 and just wondering what life is like after. Is the fleet like OCC? I mean, is everbody all ate up and in your face all the time? I know you have to put your time in and all, but does it chill out enough for you to enjoy what you do or is someone always barking orders at you and treating you like crap? I know it's and odd question and I'm totally committed to joining the Marines either way, I'm just wondering if your always trying to cover your butt and stay under the radar. I'm just asking cause I have a bunch of buddies who were enlisted and they said they got treated like crap and everyone was mean as hell just like in boot. Thanks

Why would you want to join the Marines if it ment people were going to be in your face your whole career? That would suck.

Marines are some of the nicest, funniest, and hardest working people I know. Youll love it.

Actually, we all live in squad bays (like Gomer Pyle) and get up for PT at 0500 every day (except Sundays, when we can sleep until 0515). Once you make major, it's not so bad. Then they let you have a car and go off base once a week.

The yelling isn't so bad. It's the daily beatings that suck.

You know he's joking, right. From the initial post it is hard to tell.

You'll hear this all the time at OCS, "OCS is not the Marine Corps".

Like NavyVance said: Why the hell would anybody sign an 8 year contract to be treated like $hit the entire time? Training is a right of passage, not a representation of life in the Marine Corps.

Your CO's motto is "the beatings will continue until morale improves", isn't it?

Naww.... I work on a staff. There is no consideration whatsoever given to morale.
