Living Marine Recommended for MOH

He sounds like a great kid and from what I've read I can't imagine anyone doing a better job representing his country and Corps. IMHO he also sounds like he might be having a bit of trouble putting that day away though. I hope not, but if he is I hope he's getting a little help from someone. I know he's no longer on active duty which I can't help but feel might be a good thing. Can you imagine being on active duty and having the MOA on your chest?

I've never even met anyone that earned the MOA. I wonder how (or if) it changed them and or their career?

Watched it Live on the news. Good ceremony. An honor to call this man a fellow Marine. My only question is the driver of the HMMV. Though he was driving and didn't physically get out to load those wounded and dead he drove into it. I know he has the Navy Cross, rightly deserved, and not to take anything away from Sgt. Meyer but I wonder if the SSgt (now Gunny) didn't deserve it too.

I wondered the same thing.

We should hardly be surprised, given the amount of unbelievable bullshit that we, as a Navy, feel compelled to put into an award write-up. We reap what we've sown.

Semper fucking Fi to this kid. He really is a hero!

No kidding. Also, thousands of Bronze stars being handed out to FOBbits or people who never saw a single bullet, but can't give the MOH to people who have done some astoundingly heroic things?
