Letters of Reference-

I've read most of the threads on LORs, but am reading where some people have 4-8 LORs and others have the minimum of 3 LORs. Is more better or does it just depend on which board you're appearing before?

Also, are narratives recommended? Or is it the quality of the writing that addresses the Pros a candidate brings to the table what impresses the board? I haven't seen the forms, just was told by my recruiter it's just a form. Can anyone be more specific as to whether an actual letter to accompany the "form" helps?

Any board member(s) out there? Can you address this specific issue? I realize board members are extremely busy deciphering LORs, but any feedback would be helpful. By the way, I have 3 LORs and an actual letter.

You guys are great! Can't wait to serve with you again~

I don't know about you're questions but with my USMC package I've got all the LOR forms and about 5 or 6 actual letters of rec. Two of which are USAF O-6 and O-3 (prior E). I think the point of the whole package, letters included, is "what does this cat bring to the table". If you can show that in 3 letters then more power to you. Some people feel like/want to give more letters.
