Cool article, the Lt Col was a test pilot and they had him in the cockpit helping the pilot with checklists and assist in the flight. He definitely got the best seat in the house.

Sucks for the co-pilot with the seizure, his flying career is most likely kaput.

I suppose if someone named Habib who looked like the shoe bomber showed up at the cockpit offering help the pilot might use his discretion. In the words of Dennis Miller "The shoe bomber was so ugly he won't even get f***ed in jail"
