Greeting all you San Diego area Tailhookers: This is your Warning Order for what is shaping up to be a very nice event on Wednesday, 26 March, at the Coronado Yacht Club. Come join us on the front deck of the Yacht Club for pizza, beer, wine and a full bar and watch "warm-ups" for the Wednesday evening "Beer Can Racing" season which starts April 1st.
This year’s CYC Year Book indicates that there are 52 yacht club members who are Naval Aviators or "friends of Naval Aviation", so this will be a great opportunity to meet a lot of new faces who are likely to join us.
Rules of Engagement: "Charlie time" will be 1730 (5:30 PM). As usual for a venue like this, we’ll charge $20 per person which includes pizza, open bar and "world class" views of San Diego Bay racing. Dress can be very casual, depending on the weather. As always, please feel free to bring spouses, significant others, friends, whatever. The more the merrier!
Directions: Cross the Coronado Bridge and turn LEFT on Orange Avenue. Proceed on Orange to 10th street. LEFTon 10th. 10th dead ends at Glorietta Blvd. (Tennis Courts directly ahead). Easy RIGHT on to Glorietta. The Yacht club will be on the left. Address is 1631 Strand Way. The turn into the Yacht Club is the start of Strand Way. Recommend driving PAST the yacht club on Strand Way and park in the yacht club's parking lot on the SE side of the club. There will be additional street parking on Glorietta Way. Walk through the gates and proceed to the front deck of the club overlooking Glorietta Bay. If you end up at the Boat House, make a 180 / U-Turn. You have gone too far (overshot the target…).
This will be a very unique venue and a very nice affair…one you won’t want to miss. Help spread the word.
