Marine Air Bases

Where are Marine air bases located? Anyone have a link to find out where bases are and what their mission is?

The Marine Corps has air bases? When did that happen?...sorry those d@mn sarcasm pills kicking in again...

I am going to make a friendly recommendation and say that you need to try google to find some of this basic information before coming here. There was one guy who got chewed at OCS during the Btn inspection for not knowing what kinds of aircraft the Marine Corps had and he was an air contract...something about "why would you sign a contract if you don't know what you are signing up for?"...

well... since the base stickers for 2d MAW bases say "MCABE" for Marine Corps Air Bases East... I'd say ya.

Mine says, "MCAS New River." I've seen the MCABE stickers around, but I'm not sure who gets them, since everyone in my squadron parking lot has the same one I do. Maybe the Bogue Field types. Dunno.

The Navy is amazing in that it comes up with contractions that are harder to say than the original words.

FWIW, Kaneohe is MCB and has a seperate command on the property that is MCAF. I was never clear if one Colonel worked for the other, or if they held hands and fought the forces of evil together.
