For those who haven't read my other threads, I was PLC Flight contract, but I didn't get accepted by the board for two years in a row due to a low run score, ergo sub-270 PFT score.
I am going to be a Senior this year and finish my degree. I was informed that the Marines has too many pilots and have virtually shut down flight training. There are no available contracts for OCC.
I've considered enlisting first to wait out this pilot surplus. But due to military budget cuts it might get worse
I've considered trying for ground (which I know is more competitive than Air or NFO) and then trying to switch before TBS.
My question is, is there any way to know if the Marines will need more pilots from OCC when the new fiscal year starts? Or is this now just a pipe dream due to more budget cuts?
