This is to remind everyone to review the casualty binder in your squadron (there is a sticky on this website). Have had too many friends pass away from crashes.
On a personal level, make sure your will is up to date. The last thing you want is your wife and children fighting the government over your estate. You may also want to consider something like a "will checklist" that I made for myself and a few friends: as stated, it is a checklist of all financial accounts and contact info, credit cards, homes (and rental homes with their contact info), a trusted military friend to navigate the military bureaucracy and ensure the SLGI / reserve component insurance and pension kicks in, even contacts such as the funeral home and church, etc. A master index of everything to be handled so your significant other can take care of herself and the children instead of untangling all of your accounts.
