found this at the HQMC Aviation website outlining MC aviation plans for the next 10 years

looks like the first F-35B squadron will be FY11 replacing a Harrier sqd, and FY12 will be a Hornet squadron ... that's a couple years sooner than the briefs i've sit in on

note most Hornet squadrons going to 10 jets vice 12 and a couple F/A-18D squadrons becoming single seat Hornet squadrons ... gotta love Tac Air integration. also, for those interested, it also shows the expected Corps pilot training requirements for the next 10 years

of course, it's just a plan

Interesting that the mix for strike is 59 F/A-18, 39 Harrier and 9 Prowler. Didn't know the force was that hornet heavy.
