Maximizing Chances of Fighters

I'm a BDCP pilot select with the Navy, got a year left before I graduate and go to OCS. From what I understand, your performance in flight school determines what plane type you'll be assigned. Is there anything I can do to maximize my chances of being a fighter pilot? I'm sure this question has been asked ad nauseam and I'll be happy with any plane I get to fly, but I'd still like to hear any advice you guys have.
