Medical Question

I accidentally got elbowed a couple weeks ago and I just learned that I am going to need the tooth completely replaced. The dentist told me this whole procedure takes anywhere from 5-6 months depending on the time it takes to heal. I am currently applying to OCS and hopefully I will be selected within the next month or so.

Should I notify my recruiter of my situation? Would this hurt my chances of being selected? If I had the first part of procedure done where I live, would the Navy finish the second part? Am I worrying for nothing? Anything helps! Thanks.

Absolutely tell the recruiter. My buddy had the same procedure done, and truth be told it was close to 2 years before it was all done, because of being med down, etc...

Are you sure it was an accident?

In all seriousness, I agree with phrog, you need to keep you recruiter informed of any medical procedures that could keep you from being full up for attending OCS and commissioning in the Navy.
