Has anyone had luck getting a waiver despite the optometrist thinking it wouldn't get approved? A brief history...
Between my pre-comm physical and my nami whammy I had to have eye muscle surgery due to an injury. The Optometrist at NOMI says its disqualifying for SNA but not SNFO. Even saying that if an active pilot required the surgery he would lose his flight physical certification. However, the doc that performed the surgery( before I was on tricare) used to work at walter reed and performed this operation on pilots who returned to flying status.
Also, does putting other reference letters in the waiver request packet help/hurt you?
