hey, the link isn't working, is there another link to it? i wanna see it bad... i remember there was this one video from OCS that they showed and it was so damn motivating, a looked around afterwards and every candidate had either teary eyes or ear to ear smile

Ya, that was some bada$$ flying right there. Those clearing turns were CRAZY! I havent seen flying like that since Randy Quaids character in Independence Day.LOL. Actually wouldnt be so terrible (nice scenery), but the second the Top Gun music came on... That just made it really really cheesy.
 
Oh yeah.. by the way... any of you notice in the 18 vid, something dropping off the left wing (at 1:15)? What was that?
 
I do believe that was a practice munition. At least, its size and bomb-like shape makes me think that way.

Great video. I have a video on my computer of an Airbus A-310 that makes this just God-awful, hellatious, funny as hell landing. I tried to upload it but its not working. Any ideas why its not working?
 
Man, that Top Gun video was more motivating than the F/A-18 video. Couldn't you have at least done something a little cooler than clearing turns? A 152 will do a lot more than you think it will...

It's only funny as hell when you're not in the damn bird. This summer took a trip to Europe, flew Lufthansa...who ever said Germans were hot pilots? Airbuses are scary man. The highpitched shrieking on takeoff and landing doesn't help. Then we landed with the right main gear hitting first, then bounced back up, hit on the left then settled down. Put me in a good ole US of A Boeing liner any day.
 
Ha ha, sounds like a wonderful trip, damn Germans. Airbuses are actually pretty good birds believe it or not. But because they are made by the French I refuse to like them (I'm stubborn). One thing I dont like about them is that they are strictly fly-by-wire and have no hydraulic flight controls what so ever, even as a redundancy. So I am like you, put me in a Boeing and I will feel right at home.
