Moving Companies/Storing and Moving Stuff Until OCS

I just recieved word yesterday that I need to be in Pensacola in ten days. I was thinking of storing my stuff in one of those moving vaults and then having a moving company bring it out once I get to primary. Is this the way to go? Or should I just wait until I get some time after OCS and do the move myself. Is there any moving companies out there that are more military friendly than others? I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off right now, so I could use all the advice I can get.

Thanks,

NB

Welcome to the military! Why pay, set up your move through the military and they will take care of everything. You won't be able to do this until you get orders to primary. There are lots of discussions about military moves here on this forum, check them out.

My advice would be to pack up as much as you can in your car, and leave or store the rest in your home town. That way you will have some essentials after OCS.

Yes PDX is correct the best thing would be to pack up as much as you can in your car, and leave or store the rest in your home town. That way you will have some essentials after OCS.I just got into similar situation and I did the same. Paying moving companies and storing them will be very costly.
