This contract has existed in various forms for 30 years. The GWOT made it a credible career opportunity. 2001-3 it was a direct contract gig and brought you 1,300 dollars a day plus per diem.
MVM won the contract in 04 and dropped the day rate to 800 and change, its dropped every year since. I wont even begin to get into the management issues MVM had, it should speak volumes that dude's with high school educations would rather re-up than make six figures working seven months a year.
SOC-SMG has good people and alot of solid leadership. This is a good thing for the "client", SOC wont drop the ball and cost them mission no-go's. The operators will be paid well and treated. Win-Win for everyone.
