Quick stats:

1. Rate/Rank: Aviaition Electronics Technician second class (AW/SW) (no "A" school).
2. Seven Years active duty (25 years old). Possess active security clearance.
3. Evals: 3 EP's, 1 MP, 2 P's (a little woried about this one, but I do have an explanation)
4. Awards: Meritorious mast for superior performance and one plane captain of the month award, 2 good conduct medals (I do not know if these count).
5. I have do not have that many letters of rec's except from my college counselor and some prof's.
6. I am weak in the math and physics portion of the OAR but am currently seeking a tutor (the rates are outrageous!).
7. Education: Bachelor of Science in Training and Development (3.6 GPA), Master of Art in Management with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership (3.1 GPA, I know its not the best, but I was in a hurry!), I have recently been excepted into a Ph.D program and plan on putting my approval letter in my package (would this be reccomended?)

I am applying for supply officer (OCS). I wanted to get an idea of where this forum believes I stand in reference to the competition and any reccomandation that you guys may be able to provide. It would greatly be appreciated. Thank you.

At the risk of...

Personally I think your chances are pretty good. There seems to be a big use of Supply Officers in OIF and OEF, of course a lot of them are doing some jobs they never thought they would. I don't think your PhD is anything worth including (unless you actually have the degree). Of course I am neither a recruiter nor a Supply Corps officer so mainly this is just my opinon as a CEC Lieutenant.

From a former DivO (**but current LT, so take this with some "lack of saltiness)

3. Evals: 3 EP's, 1 MP, 2 P's (a little worried about this one, but I do have an explanation)

Being an officer is not necessarily having an explanation, but more of fessing up to whatever you did wrong and moving on. Earning trust from followers as well as peers and continuing to press with the countries/service's best interests in mind. It will be better of course if it went (chronologically) Ps to MPs to EPs and that none of them were declining (EP to MP or MP to P with the same Reporting Senior). Let your positive deeds do the talking, and continue to press.

4. Awards: Meritorious mast for superior performance and one plane captain of the month award, 2 good conduct medals (I do not know if these count).

Of course they count...and I'm assuming the 2 GC medals were from your last 6 years of service...and that you are 1 year into another one???

5. I have do not have that many letters of rec's except from my college counselor and some prof's.

What about your COC? What happened that you can't get one from your Master Chief or DivO/DH?

6. I am weak in the math and physics portion of the OAR but am currently seeking a tutor (the rates are outrageous!).

I'd recommend not spending money on this right now. Get a guide book and try to improve on your own. The OAR is looking for a bar for you to get over...don't try to soar over it...just get over it.

HOLY F'n COW! I have a bachelors in Industrial Engineering (you know the 2 Bobs in Office Space...yeah that degree) and a 2.81 to boot...not proud of it...just happy I got the damn thing.

You've obviously showing your educational prowess, assuming of course that the degree is from a recognized program (ie, certified with some 10 letter acronym organization). Sure include whatever you think will help. I probably would just keep that to yourself and concentrate on having the core requirements met before adding stuff to the package...but that's just me.

Just a few ideas I had

What about your COC? What happened that you can't get one from your Master Chief or DivO/DH?
His CO's endorsement should speak for everyone in his chain of command. Anything from his divo, DH chief, or CMC would probably be seen as redundant. Vinny, can you get anything from previous officers you've worked for?

Thank you LT for all the great advice. I am still working on the interview portion of the package and plan on meeting my new CO on Monday (I just checked in and heard that he is really supportive on theses types of things).
Yes my degrees are accredited (and no they were not ONLINE degrees).
As far as the OAR is concerned I heard that the navy offers their own tutor at Navy college and my Maintanance officer said he would help as well. Thank you again.

I could but there were too many people where I last worked for the officers to give me any recommandations.

Is this a joke?

If the letter is actually entitled "Ph.D. Exception Letter," then I would leave it out.

Why would you leave it out? What is wrong with showing future potential? The reson I would want to include it is beacuse the school is very competitive to get in to.

Vinny,

I am currently working in NRD San Diego, where you do take your OAR tests. Let me know if you need any gouge - Hit me up in PM's.

I was a former PR1 stationed in NI, got my BS and MBA, and now I'm in the Supply Corps as well.
