NAS Meridian, MS

Anyone have any info on NAS Meridian, MS? What's the base like? The area? I've never been to that part of the country, any thoughts? All info will be greatly appriciated.

The city of Meridian sucks. There isn't much here. There is a mall, which mostly has shoe stores. There is a Walmart, which is the cultural center of the city. There is no Best Buy, or Circuit City, or anything dealing with "modern technology". The city is surrounded by ... well... nothing. If you have Verizon Wireless, ditch it. Verizon Wireless does not service Mississippi. At all. There is stuff to do NEAR Meridian. Tuscaloosa, Starkville, Hattiesburg, Jackson, they're all 1-1.5 hours away. Tuscaloosa is a MUST for Dreamland BBQ. They are the best ribs you'll ever have. There is a casino in Philadelphia, about 45 minutes from Meridian. It's nice and I won $100 there playing Craps. The only hot girls in Meridian are in high school. There are some good restaurants, like Jeans, Loni & Pats, and some others. Nice houses can be tough to find to rent. Nice apartments are even rarer.

I hate living in Meridian. Pensacola is a kick-ass town compared to this place. The people are nice, but there is just nothing to offer here. Oh well, I'll get used to it, I have to!
