For those that have been to OCS recently or going soon, about the NKO / Navy E-Learning / Navy Online Courses etc.... ignoring the bold letters "ATTENTION please complete" on the OCS website how important is it to actually complete these so called prerequisite courses

Just a guess, but if it says to do it, do it. If you're asking how effective they are, I have no idea.

Do you think the Navy is going to ask you to do something? If you have signed the dotted line then the Navy tells you what to do.

I am not going to go search for the exact page you are referencing. Do everything they mention before you leave because you will have plenty of other things to worry about later.

If you don't do it before OCS, then you'll have to do it during OCS....now ask yourself where you think you'll have more time.....

Help? It's as simple as googling "nko", registering as a new user, clicking on "e-learning", doing a search for the title or catalog number of the lesson, enrolling in the lesson, doing the lesson, passing the test, exiting properly so that it saves correctly and you don't have to do it over again, and then printing your certificate on landscape orientation. What's so hard about that?

Have you even heard of NMCI?

NKO is notoriously unreliable based on computer settings. I would suggest that you:
1. allow pop-ups
2. remove any third-party toolbars
3. use internet explorer

Make and save copies of the certificate. Print it immediately, in case it loses your record.

This is what I don't understand. When I was enlisted, I had an NMCI account. If I remember correctly, only certain computers were able to access NMCI. If that is the case, how can non-priors obtain NMCI accounts?

I was joking. Either doing the NKO (which I maintain is a horribly designed site) courses on your home computer or doing them on NMCI w/ the above mentioned settings will get it done. One won't get/need an NMCI account until in some sort of command that requires it.
