Navy EOD Board 2009

Hi all, I am curious if anyone on the forum applied for SPECOPS at the August board. I have been searching around for some time looking for others that may have applied(apparently there are 14 of us), but have found nothing.

I recieved a phone call about two and a half weeks ago from an EOD officer who was prepping the packages for board to talk to me about my package and to highlight my strong suits. Did anyone else who is in front of the board for EOD recieve the same phone call?

He finished off the conversation letting me know that I would most likely recieve a phone call in about two weeks after the board met but thus far, nada.

Any information would be very much appreciated, as I have been playing the waiting game for what seems like forever now. Thanks

Not to discourage you man, but the only EOD guys I knew at OCS were prior enlisted. The kind that were awarded lots of medals hunting the taliban in Afghanistan. They pretty much said that the couple OCS slots right now are going to enlisted guys with degrees. SPECWAR on the other hand had a handful of guys off the street. If you don't make the EOD board and being a SEAL interests you, you might want to throw your hat in that ring. Good luck with the board though. Timing is everything and things are always changing.

Yeah I have heard the same thing, and I had pretty written my application to EOD off as a pipe dream, but when I recieved the call from the EOD officer he told me I had the strongest application he had seen thus far.

Now I would at least like to know what the results are!
