Anyway, check out what the Southern Poverty Law Center has to say about him. You also might want to actually read their various musings on the 9/11 attacks, especially no. 3 there, home to such gems as this:

If you base your entire perceptions on the SPLC because of their reactions to a movie (I'm guessing it wasn't the book they boycotted), you are missing 99% of the good works they do. They have done fantastic legal work in civil rights cases in the south and do a good job as a watch dog group on neo-Nazi's, hate groups, etc.
