I'm taking the Marine Corps ASTB this Friday. The gouge on this site has a bunch of nautical terms. Am I going to have to know all of that stuff? Or are both ASTBs the same?

As far as I understand the test (based on what I have learned at this forum) both Marines and Navy applicants take the same ASTB.

Considering MARINE stands for "My @$$ Rides In Navy Equipment" I'd sincerely hope future marines knew at least a little something about the ships they're utilizing, lingo included :icon_smil

And to the original point of the post... the ASTB is officially called:
"The US Navy and Marine Corps Aviation Selected Test Battery"

So, yah, same test for both.

Also, seeing that the Marine Corps is a department of the Navy...in other words, the USN owns the USMC...

Ok folks....leave it at that. The question has been answered, the topic is fulfilled. USN and USMC both use the same ASTB.

This comment, though, is a discussion & arguement for the War Zone.

:icon_trou Hmm should have known this would happen. But for future reference when someone puts "hehe" after a statement it means it is meant as a good natured ribbing or a joke. hehe. But no wait I actually meant that part so disregard that last "hehe"......hehe
