hey every one so i just took the ASTB last week and go my scores back today :(. I was very confident that i aced the test but the scores told a different score. I got a 5/5/5, my OSO said i needed a 4/6/6 and i think its because of the nautical, and verbal parts of the test. My OSO said they didn't tell him which parts i did bad on so i was just wondering if anyone new of some good resources for studying nautical stuff and any other advice would be greatly apreciated. I plan on studying my a** off untill i have to take it again on the 28th so that i can turn in my application for PLC.

Thanks

Take a look at some of the other ASTB threads. There is information on websites that will help you with nautical info and such.

Yes, the last two scores are your pilot and NFO scores, respectively. I know for sure that Aviation and Nautical info and Spatial Apperception make up the score, and I'm pretty sure Mechanics do too. But either way, Aviation and Nautical are the "gimme" points, because theres no calculation, just memorizing. The best way? Get the Arco study guide from Barnes and Noble , and read over all the branches aviation info, and the marines nautical. Then when you have it down, take the book back to the store and exchange it for Cliffs Notes Flight Ap Tests, or The Learning Express guide (Barnes and Noble will let you do this with a reciept, no hassle). Also, copy them to word document on Microsoft word to make a study guide. Also do a search on this site for Aviation Nautical info/ ASTB. Theres some good gouge that I used before I passed it.

As for Spatial Apperception, I think you either get it or you dont...either 100% right or failing....more of those easy points for score though.

Mechanics I would use the Cliffs Test Prep Flight Ap book for, because they refresh those wonderful physics formulas, but the section is pretty straightforward anyway. Good luck
