Guess she don't like the Cornbread either...
I'm for anything that will save lives. Even if that means talking with those that we call enemies now. That being said, it concerns me that insurgents claiming they will put an end to the violence they have initiated and will be given amnesty or bribes or what have you by our government for their good gesture, only to pick up arms once again when they feel their demands have not been met. I mean 80% of the Sunni and Shiite to lay down arms with this plan? It makes sense that if a tribal leader can be convinced to lay down arms, a significant amount of his followers could be expected too, but this all sounds a little to sweet to be true. I am curious to hear from people who have been there and if they think this will work.
