My question is who dressed him? Nametag over correct pocket...check. Ribbons over correct pocket...check. Stars on collar...check.

Officer's crest on correct side of garrison cap...fail.

Holy crap didn't notice that at first. I just wonder how you would pull that off in the first place. I can understand nametags on shirts- I always have to think about that one. My middle/high school had nametags for our uniform and we wore them on the left side, so it always makes me do a double take when I'm putting my stuff on. The cover, however, unless it's brand new, makes no sense. I have perma-holes in mine that suggest which device goes where even if I didn't know off the top of my head.

Are you going to correct him?

Sure. Why not? He's wearing our uniform (read: YOUR uniform as well). It's all in the approach and delivery. You think in all of those retired vets he's glad-handing that none of them noticed?

@Lumpy: yep - agree 100% on the aide.

Good catch! I didn't even catch that glancing at the pic. Yeah... if it got back to him, I'm sure his aide got a nice little "talk". I remember after OCS, putting my ENS uniforms together for the first time, and had to take a second to think about it, plus a little help from google pics :)

But I agree with CM. I use my perma-holes to re-pin after a wash, or check out my old cover before swapping insignia to a new cover. I mean, you can just also remember crest goes on clean side. I also have a habit of "adjusting" the front of my cover, after I throw it on, feeling the crest and bar with my thumb and finger to ensure nothing got ripped off in my flight suit and that my cover isn't on backward. :p

I'd correct him in a heartbeat. Think about it. Would you rather one of your junior troops quietly pull you aside and suggest you take a head break and check your cover, or allow you to walk around all day out of uniform to look like an (insert proper descriptor here) to everyone and their mother? As Goober put it... it's all in having tact... something I have on occasion been known to lack... but normally have. :D
