Hello, I can only say I wish I would've found AirWarriors two months ago.

I'm in the middle of applying for BDCP and am wondering how many more steps there are. From what my recruiter tells me, the ASTB (which I'm scheduled for next Monday) is the last thing they need before my application is sent to CNRC. About how much longer should I expect to wait before I know if I've been accepted to the program?

Alright, ran the search function and found my answer to that question.

One answer I couldn't find, was if you recieve a pro-rec from your community manager, is there still a chance you won't get a final rec? What kind of things factor in to that?

I don't know what a "community manager" is. Your app goes to the boards in Millington to be reviewed.

If you run another search, you will come across several individuals that weren't final selected but got pro-recd, and the reasons therein. It doesn't happen too often, but it does happen.

Godspeed, I see you're in Daytona Beach. I'm in Orlando, Florida and working with NRD Jax. I'm assuming you worked with Senior Chief Young, is his ASTB computerized or pencil/paper? I'm scheduled for that in his office in Gainesville coming up soon, and would like to know if my scores will be available right away or I'll have to wait a few more weeks for them.

Also, who did you work with at NRD Jax?

Sorry Mesa, I took the ASTB up at NRD Seattle. I can't speak to how NRD Jax is set up. Talk to Adida though, he knows. I think that they are pencil and paper, and that you have to wait for the scores, but don't quote me on it. Shoot me a PM if you are ever in the Daytona area.

Where does Adida live? I'll look him up.

I consider myself always in the Daytona area, its about 40 mins from where I live. :) Good to know some people nearby who are shooting for the same thing I am.

I've been to NRD Jax once, really nice people and its convenient since my hometown is Jacksonville. For my physical at NAS Jax I just stayed with my parents the night before. Master Chief Rocker and Senior Processor Bob Terry are really good people.

Adida is on airwarriors, just do a search for his posts and it should give you all the information you need to contact him. This certainly isn't a bad part of the world to live in!! Distracting, but theres never a problem trying to find something to do to blow off some steam.

I've read on some people being denied BDCP, but offered pre acceptance into OCD upon graduation. Being an officer in the Navy is my longtime dream, and I see BDCP as icing on the cake. If one accepts the offer into OCS, can he still continue to apply for BDCP... or are you basically forfeiting your chance at BDCP?

My understanding is yes...because you would have a slot and then would be applying for another slot.

I would apply to for BDCP first until I was to close to graduation then within that year (if I wasn't accepted I would then) apply to OCS as much as possible. I believe (could be wrong about the time) but me thinks you can apply to OCS only if your with a year (or maybe year and a half) within your graduating date.

If you are more than a year from graduating, you can only apply through BDCP. If you are within a year, then you can apply BDCP, but you might (will probably) just get a non-BDCP slot.
