This is odd: clearly she knows someone to get this "collect a pay check" boondogle job

So, um, what's odd about this? According to her bio, she's got a lot of experience and qualifications. Of course she "knows someone," as she's spent much of her career at the upper echelons of the DoD.

It's odd that she gets paid (probably far less than she COULD get paid in another job)? Is the position of Undersecretary of the Navy a boondoggle?

Help me out...what's unusual here?

Sorry, tongue in cheek reference. I am just jealous because I want a high-paying government job where you don't have to work very hard and march towards collecting a very generous pension

All kidding aside, is Undersecretary an easy job? I don't think her government pension is going to be very significant compared to the seven-figure salary she could probably command in the private sector.
