Holy crap! Did they seriously print an edition with the American Flag in the garbage can?!!! Oh that pisses me off. "I know what we'll do, we'll complain about the US possibly disgracing the Koran. But then a few weeks later we'll disgrace the American Flag... just to get them back."

It just goes to show that a lot of the mainstream press in America is not pro-America. They are *gasp* un-American. Yes, I said it.

Sniff...sniff...I smell PHONY.

Unless someone can show me this somewhere else, I sense some clever Photoshop-esque work simply designed to piss us off.

I was thinking the same thing. I haven't heard anyone talking about it so until I see an actual copy I'm saying Photoshop.

For instance, while a Japanese edition of Newsweek dated Feb. 2 published a cover story featuring an American flag in a trash can under the headline, "The day America died," and the international edition featured a photo of President Bush with the headline, "America Leads ... But Is Anyone Following?," the U.S. edition cover story was an "Oscar Confidential" featuring Hilary Swank, Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio.

The cover story in the foreign editions, titled, "Dream on, America," about what Newsweek characterized as "the world's rejection of the American way of life," did not run in the U.S. edition of the magazine.

Thanks for the post, I stand corrected. The b@$terds!!! :icon_rage My favorite quote from the article that is linked to the last url:
If I were to offer Newsweek a suggestion, it would be this: Any story or cover you're ashamed to run in America probably shouldn't be used in other countries, either.

I've got to say, the employees at Newsweek seem to like living here considering it's a "dead" and "rotting" country and "the world's rejection of the American way of life" seems to not be stopping the immigration rates. Interesting how everyone wants to live here but no one likes our way of life. HHMMMM
