Intel dates
Good question. I'm still learning a lot as a civilian myself as I apply for Intel but have gleaned a bit of insight over the past couple months. I was told the selection board meets at the end of every month but your documents have to be in two weeks before that so they can make the rounds first. My ADDOCS were submitted in mid-July but weren't considered that month for some reason. My recruiter didn't hear back (a denial) until August 26th! That was quite the anxious waiting spell...and of course disappointment (just for now).
The point of interest, though, is the situation with Intel. My package was pretty solid (email me if you want the details), but I didn't get a professional recommendation. My recruiter called around and got some details. Apparently Intel was overselected for a number of months. They don't need anyone right now. Nobody. However, instead of closing down the board for a while, they are selecting ONE person per month. That's it. Sure would be nice to be that one, but it's a tall order right now.
My recruiter likes my chances in a normal situation so we're holding my app for reconsideration in a couple months. Hopefully he can find out ahead of time when the number selected frees up a bit more.
Very interesting. Good luck and God Bless.
