NFO Board Dates?

I did a quick search and couldn't find an answer. Do Navy NFO boards meet every month? This is the information my recruiter is giving me. I missed the June board because my ASTB was not yet scored. Now that it is scored I am hoping to make the July board. Thanks.

NFO boards meet the last Thursday of every month. Pilot and SWO meet the last Friday of the month. Your entire application kit must be on their desk 14 days prior.

Depends. Couple of days to 2 weeks on the pro rec. Just because the board meets on 7/28 doesn't mean they finish in just that one day. Depending on other office responsibilites and the number of apps to review, it could take a couple days to put out unrelated fires, review all the apps and select the number they need to fill. It shouldn't be long now. Might want to poke your recruiter with a stick. Good Luck.

Thanks

Thanks for the response. Put a call into my recruiter a couple days ago. Hasn't called back yet. Do you have any idea on the number of slots left to fill? A lot, a few? My recruiter just told me they are still looking to fill slots, he didn't give me a number.

You can figure out how many slots are left by using the formula tha the boards use. It's all very scientific.

G == Recruiting goal of the community
A == Approximate size of applicant pool.
R == Estimated attrition rate
C == speed of light
M == current month of fiscal year
D == the last time all of the board members had a good stiff drink
T == telephone number of a local chineese restaurant that delivers

What they do is combine these variables, using the formula:

G / (A*R) ^ C + M/D = P, P being the "magic number". Once they have P, they dial T and order lunch, and complain amongst themselves that D is getting too high. Once they've satisfied both D and T, they throw P out the window and pick people with minimal if any regard to stated quotas or standards of logic.

You are too smart for naval aviation. Try the AF. ;)

Call the office and ask the processor to check PORTS for you. If he won't (office policy may be only a recruiter can pass that info on) then talk to the Officer Programs Officer (OPO). The OPO is the department head and can look in PORTS for the pro rec as well.
