OK, so I am pretty much done with Primary and I went to STUCON to check out my NSS. I score at about a 60. I know that is good but here's the question...Is there a chance that they would keep me for jets/E-2's even though I want P-3's because my score it too high? It's not like I would purposfully tank myself. It would be impossible at this point. I just want the gouge. Thanks.

Can't say how things are going lately but yes they can draft a guy with a good NSS for "quality spread". Just think about it. All the low scoring people can't be going to the same place just because it happens to be unpopular. From what I hear lately, lots of NFOs want P-3s so maybe you are ok. Good Luck.

Really, so I could possibly get hosed? I hope it doesn't happened. I puke so much during dynamic flight I am pretty much positive that jets would kill me. Thanks for the info though.

If they were to 'draft' you, you could pull the puke card. It MAY help. Speaking of 'the draft', that kind of thing usually gets good rumor press before it kicks in, not always, but usually. When do you select?

Yea, like that is going to make you feel better about not getting what you want. "You did good so we are going to shaft you. Keep up the good work"

I select in about a week or so. It depends on the Pensacola weather and me finishing up airnavs...You know how Pensacola afternoons are...Anyways, I tried playing the puke card, maybe that will work better. I hear you though guys. Congrats, you did better than the next guy so we are going to give you exactly what you DIDN'T want...Go figure.

When I P-Gradded, the top guy in VT-10 and VT-4 wanted P-3s and got it. Don't worry, they usually try to do as much as they can to make sure folks get want they want... more so than the stickmonkey community....

OK, so I found out that someone in my class will be drafted...Here's the thing though. Over the weekend I began to think about the jet community and wondered...If I don't like pulling G's and I get airsick all the time, does that mean that if I get drafted, I will hate it...I know it's a pretty rediculous question but it's weighing heavy on my mind. I don't mind going to the boat, I definitely wouldn't mind killing people and breaking their things...it's just the G's and aerobatics making me puke that has me worried. What do you guys think? I have talked to everyone at the squadron and they all just tell me to go their platform...This sucks...I am almost tempted to go to the trusty eight ball for a decision. Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks.

Sounds like you really don't like the yank'n and bank'n. Put in for what you want and let the chips fall where they may. If you get jets you can still select an aircraft that doesn't get upside down so often. Even then, you do get used to it. A guy in my classed puked his way all through the NFO jet pipeline and wanted fighters worse than anyone. He got F-14s and was still puke'n into the RAG. They sent him to some special training and he got over it. I knew few NFOs that didn't get at least a little queasy at one time or another. If you get drafted, don't sweat it. Think how good you will look in the "hi mom" photo standing in front of your pointy nose jet. Just remember to wipe the puke off your face.

Wink,
I think I would like the yankin and bankin if I didn't have to puke all the time. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it other than flying a hell of a lot and the spin and puke?
Thanks,
Goplay

Can't say I have any suggestions you haven't alredy heard. I have to say though, once you are out of the training environment it will probably seem easier. I think most guys go into a training evolution a little nervous, no matter how well prepared or laid back they are. We all want to excel and most of us are very self critical of our performance. Starting a flight with a nervous stomach is no help. Once no one is looking over your shoulder and grading you, you will be more relaxed, enjoy the flight more, and probably get sick less easily.

Go Play,

Now I'm just a lowly civilian flight instuctor with an NFO contract that doesnt start till 06, but I have been flying for four years. When I started, steep turns would turn me green, and then spins, and then basic aerobatics. I eventually got through them all and am taking intermediate aerobatics in the fall. Long story short, if i made myself do it enough i went from just trying to hold down the bile to actualy enjoying it. I also found chewing mint gum helps. Good luck! Hope you get P-3s.

Yeah, so just to let you all know...it didn't even matter. Looks like I'll be turnin and burnin no matter what...If you have any extra puke bags, you can send them my way... Good luck to you all.

So if you're an SNFO that wants jets, are they pretty much yours for the taking? From the attitude of the thread, it seems like most FO's want to go heavies vice fast movers.
