So if you're sitting co-pilot in your 60 and running the radar... you're just riding along too, right?

No radar in the F or H. Still, those guys are no more flying those jets than our AW's are "flying" our helo. They are operating sonar, manning crew served weapons, or doing any number of other tasks.

Seriously, I would say that I am co-piloting or the "non-flying pilot". The guy wiggling the sticks is flying.

I have never flown with an NFO, so I don't know what your verb of choice would be. "Navigating" or "Communicating" does not sound real sexy, I know.
