No calculators use during the OAR Exam?

I'm applying to an Officer for the Navy Supply Corps. I visited http://www.navy-officer.com/astb.html and clicked on a few links. I came across this page http://www.testprepreview.com/modules/percentandratios.htm. That page roots from a directory in the name of the ASVAB exam. Is ASVAB another name for the Officer Aptitude Rating (OAR) exam? Anyways, I couldn't figure out any of the math on the page without a calculator. Are there any calculators allowed for the OAR exam?

The math is really easy with a calculator, and I am absolutely confident that I would answer every question correctly with the use of a calculator. However, it would be a guessing game for me without a calculator. I graduated with an accounting degree and passed the entire CPA Exam. They CPA examiners let you use a calculator. If calculators weren't allowed, I'd looking for another profession.

I have to ask...Why in hell can't you do the math? Those questions aren't so difficult.

The ASVAB is a seperate test all-together (enlisted aptitude test).

NO calculators on the ASTB. There is a thread here for ASTB questions also...

I no shit forgot how to borrow and do long division until I started studying for the ASTB...

Nope, no calculators. Better re-introduce yourself to that good old mid/highschool math! But, you can request spare sheets of paper, which are very handy on the math/mech. sections. Once you start working astb type problems you can catch on to the flow and can live without a calculator though. (If you do it enough.)

The math should be simple add/subtract/multiply/divide work. Usually round numbers, nothing crazy. Do relearn long division though...

I remember quite a few fraction and average type problems as well. Yea I sucked my first few practice tests too but if you haven't already checked out the gouge sites here and the ASTB study guides, they explain the format of the problems. Once you learn that and practice it should be easy sailing.
