OK, I was told I have to get my sitting hieght remeasured again, it was 37.5 inches. I know that that is 0.1 inches to tall for prowlers, but does that disqualify me from the entire jet pipline? I still fit in the T-45 and F-18. So if I go strike, can I only go F-18? PLEASE HELP!

No it doesn't disqual you from the entire pipeline, and yes if you go strike you will only be able to go F18

you could always try and pass primary first
who knows, you could suck at flying and get helos (kidding)

What do you mean by that???
Dude seriously, don't stress. You are fine, still in the running for every pipeline. Just work your butt off in Primary and hopefully you'll get what you want.

For the record, I'm in the same boat as you. Only DQ'd from EA-6B's, everything else is fair game, i.e.- T-45's and F-18's (Contingent on grades and a fair amount of luck).

I was stashed in Anthro for a few months and the most common thing people are anthropomorphically unfit for are EA-6Bs. The requirement for sitting height for this aircraft prefers short people. Besides, if you are only 0.1" too tall, I'm sure you can slouch a little when they remeasure you.

Can you still fly FA-18s? Yes.

where can I find all these Anthro requirements? is there a website somewhere that I can go to? I had Anthro today, and my legs are super long, so I want to see if that's gonna effect anything. any help would be great. Thanks

There should be a sheet in your ATJ that states whether or not you are anthro'd out of any pipelines or specific aircraft. Check that out.

ElCid, I love your quote. My wife says that to me daily (only change dating to married)...... Classic.

ElCid, the only website I know of that has the information you are looking for is password protected. The guidance that contains anthro requirements is NAVAIRINST 3710.9. The Navy does not really want to dissiminate this information because they are affraid that if people know the requirements before getting measured they will start cheating (i.e. stretching furthur, slouching, etc.). I'm not sure what the point is, since if you are only barely out of standards they will tend to remeasure you anyways.

Off the top of my head and I'm pretty sure these are right, max sitting height for jets is 38.8, max sitting height for Prowlers is 37.4 even though I'm at 38 and wasn't told I was anthro'd out of it. Max butt knee length for jets is 26.5, as for minimums, have no idea, I'm a big guy. Not sure if there is an anthro limitation for the Harrier, anyone? The CO on www.harrierpilot.com was 6'3" so I guess their isn't?

There have been people anthro'd out of Harriers, but there are also pilots who run the gamut from very short to very tall.

Interestingly enough, the T-45 is one of the more restrictive jets. Max sitting height for T-45s is 38.9, 38.4 for EA-6Bs, 40.9 for F-18s, and 40.9 for the T/AV-8B. Max butt to knee length is 26.4 for the T-45.

All of these measurements depend on the type of ejection seat installed in the plane as that will change the anthropometric mapping of an aircraft. Not all of the planes have been officially mapped. For example, the AV-8B trainer has been mapped, but not the actual plane. Do they have the same measurements? Probably, but this depends on the seat in it. Most of the minimums require at least a 32 in. sitting height and a 21 in. butt to knee length.
