OCC-200 Air Contracts pushed back?!

Hey guys was just at the OSO's today. The Lt. told me that he just got word that every Air contract in the 4th District may be pushed back to the May OCC class!? Anyone get similar news? How will this translate to Pensacola when the time comes? ANY news or similar situations would be greatly appreciated. I probably should add that the 4th District is at 200% capacity for this class.

Its definately possible. All OCS trained air contracts are being held back at TBS right now as I've mentioned a few times. It sucks that we're all held up but if the pipeline is clogged up and we cant go anywhere, they might as well push through the ground contracts that they need.

If the sinks flooding, shut the water off til it drains.

I'm coming from the 4th district and I still have a January 9 ship date for OCC-200.

Well shit, I hope this isn't true. I'm trying to get back for OCC 200 after being NPQ'd for a knee injury at 199.

Why don't you have a seat right over there.
So much conflicting info.

On the marineocs forums it was mentioned that there weren't enough slots being filled up for this 200 class.

In the past 36 hours, the talk has shifted to cutting people and downsizing the # of contracts.

Whatever, I'm just standing by and training smart.

I got the call thursday from my OSO. I was contracted ground for OCC-200 and was waiting for my flight physical approval to contract air. The call from my OSO told me that I could still go to OCC-200 as a ground contract, but they were cutting the number of air contracts. So for me it was either go as ground to OCC 200 or wait to go to OCC-201 as an air contract.

So what did you decide to do?

If you've signed an air contract for 200 and haven't been notified (ie me, I've already run my pre-ship pft and had my flight physical but haven't heard been selected), can you push it back to 201? Does that mean we have to go through MEPS again?

You shouldnt have to go through meps again unless something happened or some medical procedure was done. They might have you fill out a sheet saying that since your last exam nothing has happened to you as fas as injuries or medical procedures go but thats probably it. I tried to go back in the summer of 2005 but they pushed me back until the following summer. I didnt fill out anything different.

Just talked to my OSO...she said that OCC-201 will be taking mostly air contracts, and said that I was fine for the 200 class with my air contract.

I am still waiting on my flight physical to get the stamp from the people down in P'cola. I signed both a ground and Air contract. My OSO says that i will go OCS as a ground Contract and then switched to Air once my contract is approved... Does that sound right to anyone else? i would hate to go through OCS and hear that my packet was not approved for air?!

Wait a sec....You signed both an Air and a Ground contract? My flight physical is still pending and they had me just sign a ground contract which would turn to Air once the physical is stamped.

Me too! Just signed the ground contract this morning.

The Good- Going to OCS.
The Ok- Contract turns into OCC-A when the physical gets approved.
The Bad- Its 30 degrees in Quantico.

Wait, you guys signed a ground contract hoping the air contract fairy will come and "poof" you into air once you are medically cleared? I thought when signing contracts the most recent that you sign is the one you are under. I'm confused... What happens when the air doesn't go through in time? DOR? Did you guys check all your bases and make sure it's legit?
