I had another thread about the OCS Class 1514, but my recruiting officer just informed me that I received my final selection letter for OCS class of 06 of April. I am going to swear in this week and sign a few documents. Hoping to meet a few people on here before OCS.

There is another thread for the April 6th class - 1314 (April 6th 2014 OCS class date)...what is your designation?

I was gonna drive to RI from VA. I hear its the best option because after week 9 you get off base privileges. Also, you can keep certain banned items in your car (laptop, phone, extra shirts/underwear)

I'm coming from CA, I need to drive down to VA after OCS. Long drive tho is the only thing keeping me from doing it.

Thoughts on driving to RI for OCS?

I'll be driving from VA also. 8 or so hours isnt' that bad. But since you're driving from Cali...uhhh...well If I were you I'd still make that drive. Where is your follow on school for INTEL? Isn't in VA? I could be mistaken...but are you planing on going straight there after RI or going back to Cali?

I actually don't know how that all works, I assumed I'd have to report to VA right away after graduation. But if not, I'd just leave my car in Cali, and drive to VA when I'd need to report.

Definitely drive up from CA. You'll get tons of travel money.
