First off, little about myself. I am currently enlisted going through the enlisted NUK program. I tried putting my application in b4 enlisting but it never went passed the processor because i couldn't pass my PRT run.
anyways, one of my question is : what are my chances of getting pilot(1), NFO(2), NUK (3)?
Biology BS 2.6 GPA
ASTB 61 OAR, 6/5/6
Top of my class in A-school
Exellent High official fall'08 PFA
No flight experience what so ever.
I should have a decent Eval my collateral duty here at NNPTC is class leader.
Second question is: what is the swiming requirments for aviation field?
I barely passed my 3rd class swim test at bootcamp.
I did fine with the treading and survival but i can't just swim efficiently and effectly. I basically just bellied up and took an amazingly long time to go the 50yard distance. Reason i ask is because i am capable of learning to swim i just haven't had any instructions or opportunity to actually try to swim efficiently and effectively.
Third question is: I know for Enlisted side, if you are disenrolled from a program due to lack of ability or requirement you can reclass, but how does officer side work? What are the choices? Reason is ask is the swim thing is really making me worry. Will it be the choice between changing jobs, seperation, or go back to enlisted? or just change job.
Fourth question: At OCS, are you expected to be a proficient swimmer? or is it much like bootcamp(for those who are prior enlisted)
Last question: I was reading around about aviation and there was mention about a screening period prior to becoming a student. Something about getting 25hrs of flight time and doing a cross-country flight? I was wondering if anyone can elaborate on this a bit. (I have zero flight experience). If it is true, is it done on my own time and my own funds prior to OCS?
Thank you much in advance.
