OCS/NFO: will I be competitive?

I was just wondering if I could get some opinions from you guys. I'm considering applying to OCS in a couple years, and I've heard conflicting things on what type of GPA/major combo is competitive to getting in (and also for becoming an NFO--which I'd be thrilled to do). I have a 3.56 GPA in civil/structural engineering from one of the top engineering schools in the nation. I'm also about the complete my master's degree with a similar GPA. Assuming I do well in all the tests I have to take, including physical tests, do you anticipate I'll have any problem getting into OCS, and ultimately into NFO training? I know there's no definitive answer, but I'd like to hear some of your comments!

Well I know when I talked to recruiters they said that engineers from good schools usually have good chances since NFO is a technical job. When you take the ASTB you should do well. I am also an engineer and didn't really study and got pretty good scores.

Also for your application you will have to have letters of reccomendation.

All in all GPA sounds good, engineering is a plus and the better the school the better off you are.

Just to let you know my stats they are the following:

GPA: 3.66
Major/Minor: Industrial Engineering/Electrical Engineering
School: Purdue University

Hope that helps.

Why apply in a couple years? You say you are about to complete your masters, so start the application now. Last I looked you could start the OCS application 18 months before graduation/availability. Certainly start the app no sooner then a year in advance. Apply early!! Apply as often as necessary!!
