OCS Requirements

Hello everyone
I'm new to this website. I need some help from every single one of you who is registered in this forum. Currently, I'm an Aricrewman, and I'm planning on my OCS package. Would someone please send me a list of all the requirement that I need for this program? I have checked out the OCS website and know some of the requirements. I've been asked people around and it's seem very difficult for the enlisted personel to get in the program. Now, I'm very worried about the recommendation from the CO because I'm new with this command and not many people know about me. How do I start putting the package togethere? Thanks!

I don't want to state the obvious, but your CCC should have everything you need to get started. If the CC at your command isn't on the ball, each base has one as well. As you know, there's an instruction written on application procedures for just about every program the Navy has to offer, so I would rely on that initially. Once you get the ball rolling, experienced people here on AW can give you advice to tweak your package to try to maximize your chances of success.

Yeah, I have talked to my CCC before but it doesn't help much. I also have an application, but i thought there should be something else beside those in the application. Also, I took the test once, but the score isn't good enough. Now, I have a book to study for OCS (Aviation Flight Officer book). Is there any other sources that I can study for my test? What is the competitive score in OAR, PFAR and NFO? Reading comprehensive is the biggest issue that I have in the test, because I don't have enough time to do it.

Stats of scores of pretty much everybody, read through it and it will give you a real good idea where you stand.
The ARCO book is good to study, its what I used

I'm assuming that you already have your degree, yes?

Yeah, I already had my BS Computer Science and Math prior enlisted. Well, I kinda got screwed up by my recruiter. Now, thing is getting more complicated. I've been in TAD gor almost 2 years and couldn't work on my OCS stuff because they all said that I have to wait until I get to my permanent command. Yeah, I just checked in my permanent command.

Well, chances are that you're going to have to "pay your dues" to some extent at your new command so that the folks there who can help you know what kind of person you are. Having said that, I would let the people in your chain of command (LPO, DIVO, etc) what your intentions are because they are going to have to be involved and can help you throughout the process. I'd approach it like this - "Hey, I know I'm new here and I want to work hard and do good things for this command, but I also want to get the ball rolling for OCS in the near future." That lets them know that you're not just thinking about leaving for OCS and are willing to contribute to the command. Bottom line, you're going to need permission and recommendations from your command to go to OCS, so make them feel good about sending you there by kicking @ss while you're there. That's where I'd start. Good luck and keep us posted!
