What is a competitive OAR score? I scored a 46 and don't have the opportunity to take it again. I am active enlisted right now and my GPA is poor what are my chances of getting selected? I am a squared away sailor and have passed all my PRTS. I also volunteer at local grade schools. I have two degrees from a University. Is putting in an application worth my time? I have officers right now encouraging me to submit one. I am excited about the process, but question my score. I am not looking to become a pilot.

I have a friend who just got picked up for NFO with an OAR of 52 and 5's on the other scores, so I would definitely put a package in. What do you have to lose.

If I'm not mistaken, you can submit an OCS package every month. What's the worst they're going to tell you? "No. Try Again."? Just a matter of HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT????

Active enlisted applying through the chain of command will see slightly different competitive profiles then anyone, to include prior service, applying through an OCS recruiter. Without knowledge of all your specifics I can generalize and say that a guy coming off the street with a 46 and real low GPAs might have a though row to hoe. A guy applying from active status might be just fine. Those aren't bad scores, just depends how the rest of the app shapes up. Like USN ATC sez, got nothing to lose. Good luck!
