OCS to Navy Pilot

I am looking to put in my OCS package fairly soon, and I am wondering how you get from OCS to flight school?

If I ever get lucky enough to be selected SNA for OCS, I'll probably use a Schwinn to get to NAS Pensacola.

Well, if you drive to OCS (which I recommend so you have a car there in the later stages), you will drive your car down to Florida. If you fly to OCS, the Navy will pay for your plane ticket down to Florida.

When you apply for OCS you have to request 3 designators (jobs) you wish to have. If you picked pilot and got accepted for that... you will go from OCS then to flight school.

Negative. You can put no MORE than 3. But don't let anyone tell you that you have to put 3, because you don't. I only put 2 when I applied.

EDIT: On a related note to getting from Newport to sunny Pensacola, do OCS grads get house hunting leave and/or qualify for PCS-type move assistance for moving any furniture down to Pensacola?

House hunting leave, no. PCS only if you're married. Everyone else is TAD.
